About the player
Ionuț Vînă came up through the Gheorghe Hagi Academy and made his senior debut for Viitorul Constanța in 2011. He stayed through the 2016–17 season, when Viitorul won the Liga I title, and in between spent the 2015–16 season on loan at Dunărea Călărași, where he made two appearances.
With FCSB he won the Cupa României in 2018–19 and 2019–20, and the Supercupa României in 2019. Across his career he has made two appearances in the UEFA Champions League, 13 in the Europa League and five in the Europa Conference League.
His stay at FCSB ended on 31 July 2021 in a swap. Vînă went to Universitatea Craiova, while Andrei Burlacu and Ivan Mamut moved the other way. He spent two seasons in Craiova before returning to Farul Constanța on a free transfer on 1 July 2023.
Back at the club where he started, Vînă is a left-footed midfielder in the first team. He has made 115 appearances and scored 12 goals in all competitions.
Before the senior game, he went through Romania's youth sides. He won 15 caps for the U19s and scored four goals, after earlier appearances at U17 and U18 level.
