About the player
Josh Fowler reached the Scottish Premiership by an unusual route: through the Juniors, then the United Arab Emirates and Australia, before a season in the Championship.
He started at Johnstone Burgh and moved to Beith Juniors in 2021. There he scored 49 goals in 78 appearances over two years. That return brought interest from the Premiership clubs Motherwell and Kilmarnock.
Instead of staying in Scotland, Fowler went abroad in August 2023 to join Gulf United, who played in the UAE First Division League. He spent the 2023–24 season there. In July 2024 he crossed to Australia to sign for St Albans Saints in the NPL Victoria. By September he was back in the UAE with Dubai City, again in the First Division League. He scored 17 goals for them, and the team won promotion.
Fowler returned to Scotland in July 2025, signing for Queen's Park in the Scottish Championship. He made 25 appearances and scored 19 goals. He now plays for St Johnstone in the Premiership, where he is the club's number nine.
Fowler was born in Paisley and has played for Scotland at U15, U17, U19 and U21 levels.
