Jason Derek Holt

Jason Holt was named in the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year for 2015–16, the season Rangers won the division. He had joined them that July from Heart of Midlothian, and the move was settled with a development compensation fee of £65,000.

Holt came to Hearts through the youth academy after being spotted at Musselburgh Windsor, and he made his first-team debut in 2011. A loan at Raith Rovers followed that November and lasted until January 2012. He went out again in early 2015 to Sheffield United, returning at the end of that spell in May, before the Rangers deal.

Rangers used him as a left-footed midfielder for five years, but his later time there was spent largely elsewhere. He spent a long loan at Fleetwood Town, from June 2018 to April 2019, and then a season at St Johnstone, from September 2019 to May 2020.

In August 2020 he left Rangers on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract with Livingston. He stayed with the club until August 2024, when he moved back to McDiarmid Park on another free transfer. St Johnstone had just been relegated from the Premiership, so he returned to a side in the Championship, the division in which he had earned his individual honour nine years earlier.

Across his two spells with St Johnstone he has made roughly 80 to 85 competitive appearances. He has scored once and set up several goals for team-mates.
