Jake Joseph Garrett

Jake Garrett was on Merseyside's books early. He started out with both Liverpool and Everton, then joined the Blackburn Rovers academy aged nine and stayed with the club from then on.

Blackburn gave him his first professional contract in March 2020. His senior debut followed in August 2022, and in March 2023 he signed a new long-term deal. That same 2022–23 season he was in the under-21 side that reached the Premier League Cup final and finished as runners-up.

Before that he had been part of the England youth set-up. Garrett won four caps for the under-15s in 2017–18, in matches against the Netherlands, Japan and the Czech Republic. In August 2018 he added two for the under-16s, against Scotland and Turkey.

The midfielder, 188 cm tall, then had to look elsewhere for regular games. In August 2024 he went to Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan. He made 11 appearances there, seven of them in League One, and Blackburn recalled him on 3 January 2025.

The break in Bristol was short. On 31 January 2025 he joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for the rest of the 2024–25 season. He again made 11 appearances and scored once.

He has not yet been capped by the senior England team.
