About the player
Jacob Pryts Larsen did not start out as a goalkeeper. He was retrained between the posts after joining the Brøndby IF academy. Brøndby gave him his first professional contract in 2017, but he never played a senior league match for the club.
His career was built lower down the Danish pyramid. Næstved Boldklub took him on loan in January 2017, and he made two appearances. He returned permanently in December 2017 and played 45 league matches for them up to 2020. Fremad Amager then signed him on a free transfer on a three-year contract, and he played 77 league games there before Silkeborg IF signed him in June 2023.
He made his debut in the first round of the Danish Cup, a 1–0 win over Young Boys FD, and four appearances in all that season. When Silkeborg beat AGF 1–0 in the 2024 final on 9 May, he was on the bench as the number 16 and did not play.
He moved to IK Start in August 2024. He played 30 league games in the 1. divisjon in 2025 and 16 in the Eliteserien in 2026. On 14 August 2026 Start loaned him to Sarpsborg 08 FF for the rest of the season, and he made his debut for them in the Norwegian Cup against Sparta Sarpsborg.
Before that, he had been capped by Denmark at every youth level from under-17 to under-21, including six appearances for the under-19s in 2016 and 2017. He has not yet played for the senior national team.
