Janaina Waimer

Janaina Weimer's career took her from law lectures in Criciúma to a league cup final in Portugal. She began in Brazil playing youth football at Criciúma while studying Law, before a 2019 university world championship in Italy opened the door to a move abroad. "Portugal foi quem me abriu as portas," she said in an interview, describing her affection for the country that took her in.

She joined Racing Power in Seixal in 2020, and over three seasons scored around 64 goals in 63 games and helped the team win promotion to the first division. That form carried her to SCU Torreense in September 2023, where she has since made 67 appearances and scored 27 goals. In the 2024–25 Campeonato Nacional Feminino she finished the season as the league's fourth-highest scorer, with 12 goals in 17 matches, and she opened the following campaign as Torreense's own top scorer.

The 2025–26 season brought the biggest prize of her career so far. Weimer was part of the Torreense squad that beat Valadares Gaia 1–0 in the final to win the Taça da Liga Feminina, and she also contributed to the club's wins in the Taça de Portugal and the Supertaça. She carried that form into European competition, scoring twice in three Europa Cup appearances and twice more in two Champions League matches.

She has not yet been capped by Brazil, though her performances in Portugal have drawn coverage back home suggesting a national team call-up could follow.
