Jaouen Djimmy Hadjam

Jaouen Hadjam's career has taken him through three national teams' pathways before he settled on one. Born in Paris, he came through French youth football, representing France at Under-17 and Under-19 level, before switching his international allegiance to Algeria in 2023. Since then he has become a regular in the Algeria set-up, earning 21 caps and scoring three goals, and featuring at both the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup, where he played in the group stage and the round of 32.

His club path began in the Paris academy system, moving through Champagne 95, Alfortville, a spell in Paris Saint-Germain's youth ranks, and Créteil before joining Paris FC, where he signed his first professional contract and made his senior debut. A move to FC Nantes followed, where his time was marked by an episode in April 2023 when he was dropped from the squad after refusing to break his Ramadan fast on matchdays.

He left Nantes for BSC Young Boys, where he developed into a key player, making 98 appearances and winning the Swiss Super League title in the 2023–24 season. His performances earned him a place in that season's Swiss Super League Team of the Season.

That form led to Brighton & Hove Albion completing his transfer, with reports putting the fee in the region of €12–13 million, and Hadjam signing a contract running to 2031.
