About the player
Johan Meyer went on loan to Esbjerg fB in the 2024–2025 season and played 26 matches in the Danish 1st Division.
He spent nine years, from 2008 to 2017, in the youth system at Hillerød Fodbold. He then moved to the academy at FC Nordsjælland, where he stayed until 2023. Lyngby Boldklub took him into the senior squad the same year.
Meyer also played for Denmark at youth level. He won two caps for the Under-18 side in 2022 and one for the Under-19 side in 2023.
In January 2026 he left Denmark for Norway. IK Start announced his signing in late January, and the registration was completed on 30 January. He joined on a three-year contract; the fee was not disclosed. The club's announcement described him as a Danish centre-back. He is right-footed and, at 192 cm.
