About the player
John Auta came through the Right2Win academy in Nigeria before making the move to Czech football, joining Teplice in the summer of 2024. He spent his first season with the club's reserve side, playing in the 3. CFL and scoring once in nine appearances.
His first-team debut came in the Chance Liga on 17 May 2025, and he added two league appearances that season without finding the net. The breakthrough arrived the following campaign: his first senior goal came against Bohemians 1905 on 2 August 2025, in a match Teplice won 3–0. He has since scored against Mladá Boleslav and Viktoria Plzeň. Teplice rewarded that form with a contract extension in October 2025, and by the 2026/27 season he had reached nine league appearances and four goals.
Auta plays as a left-footed midfielder and wears the number 17 shirt. He has also featured in the Czech Cup. There have been no major titles at Teplice during his time there so far, and he has not yet been capped by Nigeria at any level. His market value has risen to around €599,000 as of mid-2026.
