About the player
John Olav Norheim has spent most of his career moving between Norway's lower and middle tiers.
He started out at Flekkerøy IL, known locally as Fløy, and made his senior debut there in 2012. In the 2013 Norwegian Cup he scored once for the club. Start signed him in 2014. He was loaned to Nest-Sotra in 2015, where he played 14 matches and scored five goals, and to KFUM Oslo in 2016, where he made 27 appearances. Two seasons back at Fløy followed, in 2017 and 2018.
The route back up ran through Strømmen, where he played 26 games in 2019, and then to Jerv in 2020. His teammates voted him their Player's Player of the Year for 2020, and over three seasons he made 61 appearances and scored seven goals, a return that stands out for a defender.
In 2023 he moved to HamKam. He played there until early 2025, making 57 appearances and again scoring seven goals. Start then brought him back.
Norheim has not won a league title or a cup with any of his clubs, and he has not been capped by Norway at any level.
