Joseph Hungbo

Joseph Hungbo won the SPFL Goal of the Month award for October 2021 while on loan at Ross County, a spell in which he made 33 league appearances and scored seven goals.

Hungbo grew up in Lambeth, London, and joined Crystal Palace in 2009 after starting at Hillyfielders FC. He stayed for ten years and signed his first professional contract in 2018, but never played a senior league match for the club. His first senior football came on loan at Margate in 2019, where he made nine appearances in the Isthmian Premier Division.

He moved to Watford that year and was sent out repeatedly. Six appearances at Aldershot Town in the National League came first. Ross County followed, and in 2023 he played 14 times for Huddersfield Town and scored three goals.

Nürnberg signed him permanently in July 2023 for a reported €280,000. Rotherham United took him on loan for the 2024–2025 season, and he made 13 league appearances there. In January 2025 he joined Wigan Athletic for a reported €350,000, and by January 2026 he had played 43 league games for the club. A short loan at Swindon Town in 2026 brought two appearances.

Hungbo is of Nigerian and Togolese descent. Both England and Nigeria showed interest in him earlier in his career, but he has not been capped by either at senior or youth level.
