About the player
Joseph Olowu was a member of Doncaster Rovers' 2024–25 EFL League Two title-winning side. It was the high point of four years at the club, where he made 121 league appearances and scored eight goals.
Olowu arrived there in September 2021 on a free transfer, having spent more than a decade at Arsenal. He had joined the club's academy in 2008, aged eight, and stayed until 2021. His two years on the senior books, from 2019, brought no first-team appearances. Instead he learned the game on loan: 15 appearances and a goal for Cork City in 2020, then 13 outings for Wealdstone in 2021.
He left Doncaster in June 2025 after turning down a contract extension, joining Stockport County on a free transfer. In the 2025–26 season he played 31 league games for the club, scored twice and reached the EFL Trophy final.
Olowu holds both English and Nigerian citizenship. He has spoken of his interest in representing Nigeria, but has not yet played for either country at senior or youth level.
