Kamil Piątkowski

Legia Warszawa's number 91 spent his early years in the reserves at Zagłębie Lubin, never making it into the first team, and had to move to Raków Częstochowa in 2019 to get a proper run of first-team football. It paid off quickly. He became a regular starter at the back, helped Raków win the Polish Cup in 2020–21, and picked up the Ekstraklasa's Young Player of the Season award that same campaign, along with two monthly prizes. That form triggered a move to Red Bull Salzburg in a deal reportedly worth €5–6 million, a record sale for Raków at the time.

Salzburg brought silverware — back-to-back Austrian league and cup doubles — but not a settled place in the side. Piątkowski was farmed out three times, on loan to K.A.A. Gent, then Granada CF, then Kasımpaşa, and even a strong autumn under coach Pepijn Lijnders couldn't survive a change of manager. After four years in Austria, he moved on to Legia Warszawa on a contract running to 2029.

Internationally, Piątkowski made his senior Poland debut in a 3–0 win over Andorra during World Cup qualifying and was named in the squad for Euro 2020. He was named in the squad for Euro 2020. The goal was later shortlisted for UEFA's Goal of the Round.
