Rafał Augustyniak

Widzew Łódź signed him in 2011, but the path to regular first-team football ran through loans, first at Pogoń Siedlce. A move to Jagiellonia Białystok in 2015 brought more of the same pattern — spells out at Pogoń Siedlce, Wigry Suwałki and Miedź Legnica while he searched for a settled role.

It was at Miedź Legnica that his career found its shape. He scored the winning goal against his own former club, Jagiellonia, and helped Legnica win the I liga in 2017/18, going up to the Ekstraklasa. Legnica made the move permanent, and Augustyniak joined Ural Yekaterinburg. He made his Poland debut in March 2021, coming on as a substitute against England at Wembley in a World Cup qualifier that Poland lost 2–1.

Augustyniak returned to Poland in July 2022 on a free transfer to Legia Warszawa, and the move has been the most productive of his career. He has won the Polish Cup twice with Legia and lifted the Polish Super Cup on two occasions, building well over a hundred appearances for the club and contributing goals from defence. The run has not been without cost: in an injury sustained late in the 2023/24 season against Górnik Zabrze, he lost two front teeth, a reminder of the physical toll behind the medals.
