About the player
Luís Balbo grew up in Ciudad Guayana. He passed through União da Madeira before continuing his development at Famalicão.
Fiorentina brought him in during January 2024, signing him to a contract running to 2028 while he settled into the Primavera side. He won the Campionato Primavera 1 with the club's youth team before senior football arrived, and by the 2025–26 season he had made six appearances in Serie A plus one in the Coppa Italia, wearing the number 62 shirt in Florence. In July 2026, Sturm Graz paid a reported €1.5 million, with a 50% resale clause attached, to take him to Austria, where he switched to the number 27.
A left-back who plays with his left foot, Balbo also holds Portuguese citizenship alongside his Venezuelan nationality. Before that senior breakthrough, he had already featured twice for Venezuela's under-20 side, including a spell at the 2025 South American U-20 Championship.
