About the player
Louis Millard's route to Swindon Town's first team began at right-back. At Melksham Town, the local non-league club where he started out, he played in defence. Swindon moved him forward, first into a winger's role and then as a forward, after he joined their under-18s in January 2025. He also attended Melksham Oak School.
The change of position has shaped his first weeks in senior football. He made his debut in the Carabao Cup against Cardiff City, then started his first League Two match, against Northampton Town. In August 2026 he signed his first professional contract, which runs to 2028 and includes an option for a third year.
His first senior goal came in September 2026 in a 3-1 comeback win over Port Vale.
Millard holds both English and Kenyan citizenship. Shortly after the Port Vale game, Kenya's coach Benni McCarthy included him in the Harambee Stars squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Eritrea and Guinea, his first senior call-up.
He did not join up with the squad. Playing for Swindon against Colchester United, he dislocated his shoulder, which ruled him out of both fixtures.
