Leonard Owusu

Leonard Owusu was captain of Dreams FC when the club won promotion to the Ghana Premier League in 2015, and he was captain again when it happened a second time in 2017. In 2018 he was named MVP of the GHALCA G8 Tournament, the year he left Ghana.

His first move abroad was to Israel. In July 2018 he joined FC Ashdod on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The option was exercised in 2019, and he signed a permanent three-year contract. He made 46 league appearances for the club.

In January 2020 Vancouver Whitecaps FC signed him from Ashdod in Major League Soccer, using Targeted Allocation Money. He played 60 league games for the Whitecaps. In 2022 he won the Canadian Championship with them.

Norway came next. In March 2023 he joined Odds BK on a free transfer and played 25 league matches. Ten months later, on 19 January 2024, he signed a three-year contract with the Serbian SuperLiga club FK Partizan, again on a free transfer. He made 26 league appearances in Belgrade.

In the summer of 2025 Partizan sent him on loan to Fredrikstad, in an arrangement covering the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Fredrikstad met half of his wages. He played 29 league matches in his first season there and scored twice. That was enough for the loan to run on into 2026.
