Marvin Peersman

Marvin Peersman grew up in Wilrijk, near Antwerp, and started out at Sint-Anneke Sport before moving through the youth ranks at Germinal Beerschot and KSK Beveren, where he made his senior debut in 2009. From there his career took him through Belgium and abroad, spending time at Royal Antwerp.

The move to SC Cambuur in 2015 took in Hapoel Tel Aviv and then PAS Giannina in Greece, where he was named the club's Player of the Year for the 2020–21 season. A brief stint at Aris followed before he joined FC Groningen on a free transfer in July 2023.

Groningen turned out to be one of the more productive stops of his career. Across his time at the club he made 96 league appearances and scored six goals from the back. He wore the number 43 there, a shirt number he has kept throughout his career because it was the house number where he grew up.

Peersman represented Belgium at Under-19 level, earning six caps in 2009 and 2010, though he has not been capped by the senior national team. He also holds Ghanaian nationality through his father. Left-footed and comfortable at left-back or in the centre of defence, he left Groningen for SC Telstar in July 2026 on a two-year contract, taking his familiar number 43 with him.
