Matěj Ryneš

Matěj Ryneš made his senior debut for AC Sparta Praha in 2022, having come through the club's youth academy since 2017. A left-footed left-back, he had first learned the game at TJ Smrčina Horní Planá, in his home town, before moving through Slavoj Český Krumlov and SK Dynamo České Budějovice as a boy. At Sparta he progressed through the B team, where he made 30 appearances and scored four goals, and a loan spell at FC Hradec Králové in the 2022–23 season, where he added 25 appearances and three goals to his record.

He returned to Sparta a regular starter, and the following season brought the 2023–24 Czech First League title alongside the MOL Cup, a domestic double. He has passed 83 senior appearances, and was part of the Sparta squad that reached the round of 16 in the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2025–26. He has scored in European competition, including against Aktobe in Champions League qualifying.

Ryneš was named as an alternate for the Czech Republic squad at Euro 2024 but did not make the final selection. His senior international debut came on 7 September 2024, in a Nations League match away to Georgia that finished 4–1 to the hosts; he was withdrawn after 26 minutes with an injury. He made his second cap in a friendly against San Marino in November 2025 that Czechia won 1–0.
