Matija Ljujić

Matija Ljujić's career has followed the work across a long list of countries: Serbia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Portugal, Israel, South Korea, Azerbaijan and now Hungary. He started out at Teleoptik, where he played 102 matches and scored nine goals.

In his first year there he won the A Lyga, the Lithuanian Cup and the Lithuanian Super Cup. He made 44 appearances for the club and scored seven goals.

In January 2018 he signed for Wellington Phoenix in the A-League and scored on his debut, in a 1–1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers. He finished the season with 14 appearances and two goals. Belenenses SAD in Portugal followed that June on a free transfer, and he played 30 matches there.

Israel occupied a good part of his career. Bnei Yehuda signed him in September 2019, and over two seasons he played 51 times and scored five goals. He returned to the country in January 2022 with Hapoel Haifa and played 14 matches.

He joined Újpest on a free transfer in July 2022. In February 2023 he was loaned to Sabail in Azerbaijan, where he scored three goals. In August 2024 was named Nemzeti Bajnokság I Player of the Month. He has now made 86 appearances for Újpest and scored 21 goals.
