Arijan Ademi

During his first spell at Dinamo Zagreb he won 10 Croatian First League titles, six Croatian Cups and four Super Cups, which makes him the most decorated player in the club's history. He also holds Dinamo's record for appearances in European competition, with 77 matches.

Ademi began at HNK Šibenik in his home city, made his senior debut in 2008 and moved to Dinamo in June 2010 for €400,000. He became club captain in 2017. In 2020 his fellow players in the Croatian First League voted him the competition's Best Player.

His career also carried a serious setback. After a Champions League match against Arsenal in October 2015 he tested positive in a doping control and was initially banned for four years. In March 2017 the ban was cut to two years after it was proven that he had not taken the substance intentionally.

Internationally, he played three times for Croatia in 2013 and then switched to North Macedonia in 2014. For North Macedonia he won 33 caps and scored four goals, and he played in all three group matches at UEFA Euro 2020.

In March 2023 he left for Beijing Guoan of the Chinese Super League, in a deal reported at between €500,000 and €1 million. He was back at Dinamo that September on a free transfer and stayed until 2025. In July 2025 he joined Újpest in Hungary, again on a free transfer.
