About the player
Matt Ingram grew up through the Wycombe Wanderers academy and turned professional there in May 2012. He was voted the club's Player of the Season for 2013–14, then won the Football League Young Player of the Month award the following September and was named the highest-ranked goalkeeper in League Two for 2014–15. Before any of that, in January 2011, he was the only player from a League Two club called into an England goalkeeping training camp, though full international recognition never followed.
His time at Hull included a loan at Northampton Town and, in 2020–21, a League One title medal as part of the Hull squad that won promotion. A brief loan to Luton Town in 2022 saw him play a part in their play-off run, with Ingram delaying his honeymoon to fill in for injured teammates before Luton were beaten by Huddersfield Town in the semi-finals.
His path since has taken in spells at West Bromwich Albion and Oxford United, where he signed in July 2024. Across a career built largely on loan spells early on — at Lewes, Hayes & Yeading United and Oxford City among them — Ingram has developed into an experienced goalkeeper who has never collected a senior cap.
