About the player
Mustafa Şengül's most recent season ended in promotion. On 9 May 2026 Mardin 1969 Spor beat Muş Spor 2–1 in the Nesine 2. Lig play-off final and went up to the Trendyol 1. Lig. Şengül, a defender, had joined on loan from Çaykur Rizespor in August 2025 and finished the campaign with 27 appearances and five goals.
Promotion was not new to him. He began his senior career at Soma Spor, where he played 111 matches and scored three goals between 2018 and July 2023. Soma Spor won the TFF 3. Lig title in 2020–2021 and moved up to the TFF 2. Lig.
In July 2023 he moved to Çaykur Rizespor. He made six appearances for Boluspor in the autumn of 2023, then played 14 games and scored once for Zonguldak Kömürspor in the second half of the 2024 season. At Erbaaspor, from August 2024 to June 2025, he played 32 times and scored three goals.
