About the player
Born on 12 May 1999, Nair Tiknizyan came through the CSKA Moscow academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2017, going on to make 34 league appearances and score twice before a loan spell at Avangard Kursk in 2020. His breakthrough came at Lokomotiv Moscow, where a €5–5.5 million move in August 2021 turned into a four-year spell of 92 league appearances and around a dozen goals. He was named the club's Best Player on multiple occasions through 2023, picking up monthly awards from April through December that year, including the Fonbet Best Player of the Month for May.
In the summer of 2025 he moved to Crvena Zvezda for €1.7 million on a three-year deal, and helped the Belgrade club complete a domestic double, winning the Serbian SuperLiga and the Serbian Cup in the 2025/26 season across roughly 67 appearances. A little over a year later he left for Olympiacos in a fee of between €5 million and €6 million, signing until 2030 and turning down interest from Russian clubs, including Zenit Saint Petersburg, in the process.
Having come through Russia's youth ranks at U19, U20 and U21 level, he switched allegiance to Armenia in 2023 and made his senior debut for the national team that March. His only goal for Armenia came that June, against Latvia in a Euro 2024 qualifier. He has gone on to earn 31 caps, featuring across Euro 2024 qualifying, two editions of the UEFA Nations League and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, though Armenia did not reach either tournament.
