Nathaniel Phillips

Nathaniel Phillips came up through Bolton Wanderers before Liverpool took him into their academy in 2016, and his path from there ran mostly through other clubs' dressing rooms. He made his senior debut for Liverpool in 2019, but the bulk of his time on Merseyside was spent out on loan: at Stuttgart, then Bournemouth, then Celtic, then two separate loans in the Championship at Cardiff City and Derby County. In between the moves, he was part of the squad that won the EFL Cup in the 2021–22 season, though he did not feature in the final itself. He did have his moments in a Liverpool shirt that season, picking up the Man of the Match award against RB Leipzig and against Burnley in 2021.

Phillips also represented England at Under-21 level, without going on to earn a senior cap.

His Liverpool contract ran out at the end of June 2025, and he moved on a permanent deal to West Bromwich Albion, signing until 2028. Since then he has settled into regular first-team football at the Hawthorns, making 41 Championship appearances in the 2025/26 season and scoring three goals.
