About the player
Nicholas Michalski made his Blackburn Rovers debut in the EFL Cup against Bradford City, a 2–1 defeat. It came on 12 August 2025, and the same day he signed a new contract running to June 2029.
Michalski was born in Manchester and holds British and Polish citizenship. He started out at Stoke City and moved to the Blackburn academy at Under-12 level in 2018. His first professional contract followed on 18 March 2024, and he extended it again in January 2025 before the longer deal that summer.
Before his first-team debut, he got senior experience away from Ewood Park. In July 2024 he went on loan to Bamber Bridge. In October he moved to City of Liverpool, where he stayed until January 2025 and made 10 appearances. Those spells in non-league football came while he was still a teenager.
His latest step is another loan. On 1 August 2026 he joined Crawley Town for the season.
Michalski has also played for England at youth level. He won one cap each at Under-16 and Under-17, three at Under-18 and three at Under-19. In November 2025 he was an unused substitute for the Under-19s in a 6–0 qualifying win over Portugal.
