Nicolas Rommens

Nicolas Rommens grew up in the Westerlo youth system after starting out at Ternesse VV and Lierse SK, and it was at Westerlo that he made his senior debut in 2013. He moved on as a free agent, first to K.S.V. Roeselare and then, in June 2020, to RWDM.

It was at RWDM that Rommens turned into a genuine leader. He captained the side in the 2021–22 season, finished that campaign as the Challenger Pro League's top assist provider with 11, and was credited with a hand in a fifth of the team's goals. He was named in the division's Team of the Year, even as RWDM missed out on promotion by finishing as runners-up.

That form earned him a move to S.V. Zulte Waregem in July 2022. Across three seasons there he made 79 appearances, added a second Team of the Season selection in 2023–24, and was part of the squad that won the 2024–25 Challenger Pro League title and sealed promotion to the Belgian Pro League.

In July 2025 Rommens joined Lommel United on a free transfer. He has represented Belgium at Under-16 level, though he has not gone on to win senior caps. Playmaking and leadership, rather than a heavy goal return, have defined his career so far.
