About the player
Oskar Øhlenschlæger joined the Turkish Süper Lig club Samsunspor in August 2026 for €2.5 million plus add-ons.
Born in Aarhus, he came through the academy at AGF, then spent time in England with Fulham and AFC Wimbledon. He returned to Denmark to play for the under-19 side at FC Nordsjælland before signing his first professional contract with Vendsyssel FF in 2023.
Vendsyssel was where he made his name. When he left in January 2025 for the Norwegian Eliteserien club Fredrikstad, the fee was about three million Norwegian kroner (roughly €250,000 to €300,000). It was described as possibly the largest sale in Vendsyssel's history.
Øhlenschlæger has also played for Denmark at youth level. He made his debut for the under-20s in November 2024 against South Korea and has won two caps at that age group, without scoring.
At Samsunspor he wears number 19.
