Rúben Daniel Bentancourt Morales

Salto born forward Rúben Bentancourt made his move to Europe early, leaving Danubio's youth ranks for PSV Eindhoven in 2011. Three years later Atalanta signed him, but the Bergamo club never gave him a settled run, sending him out on loan to Bologna, Defensor Sporting and Arezzo before a brief, appearance-less spell at Defensa y Justicia closed that chapter. A short stint at Paraná Clube followed before he found his scoring touch back in Uruguay: at Sud América in 2017 he scored ten goals in seventeen matches.

What came next was a tour of South and Central America — Independiente Santa Fe in Colombia, Atlante in Mexico, then a return to Uruguayan football with Boston River, where he scored 14 goals in 35 appearances. That form carried him to Peñarol in August 2021, and the following months brought the Uruguayan Primera División title in 2021 and the Supercopa Uruguaya in 2022, a campaign in which he also finished as the Torneo Intermedio's top scorer with five goals.

He left Peñarol by contract rescission in January 2023 to join Liverpool Montevideo, adding a further Primera División title and Supercopa Uruguaya that year. A season at Nacional followed, where he won the Intermedio and Clausura in 2024, before a move to Argentinos Juniors in Argentina in January 2025. In January 2026 he returned to Liverpool Montevideo on a free transfer. At youth level, Bentancourt represented Uruguay's under-20 side, taking silver at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup and bronze at that year's South American U-20 Championship.
