R. Machado

The centre-forward made his professional debut as a substitute in the 66th minute of the 2023 Supercopa Uruguaya final against Nacional, and followed it a week later with his league debut in the Primera División.

That first season brought only ten league appearances and a single goal, but it ended with a Uruguayan Primera División title. The breakthrough came in 2024, when Machado established himself with 33 league appearances and eight goals, numbers that marked him out as a genuine first-team option. In 2025 he kept his place with 32 appearances, though his goal return dropped to four, and he has continued in the side into the current campaign.

Machado plays with his number 9 on his back and operates as a right-footed centre-forward, a product entirely of Liverpool Montevideo's own academy rather than the transfer market. The club rewarded his development with a contract that runs to October 2028, tying down a player they see as central to their future.
