Romano Postema

Romano Postema finished the 2025–26 Eerste Divisie as the league's top scorer with 24 goals, and he did it while on loan at FC Emmen from FC Groningen. Fourteen of those came in the second half. Eight times he scored the first goal of a match, and both figures were records for the season. He also scored a hat-trick against Helmond Sport in December 2025.

Hat-tricks have followed him around the second tier. He has scored four in the Eerste Divisie, and the first came early, on loan at FC Den Bosch in 2020–21, when he scored three against Roda JC. In March 2024 he scored one against Maastricht and another against De Graafschap. That month he scored eight goals in five games and was named Player of the Period for Period 4.

He is from Groningen and had spent time at DIO Groningen and GVAV-Rapiditas before he joined the FC Groningen academy in 2013. He made his senior debut for the club in 2019. His breakthrough at Groningen came in 2023–24, when he scored 18 goals and helped the club win promotion to the Eredivisie. Before that he had also spent a season on loan at Roda JC Kerkrade.

In 2019 he played for the Netherlands at youth level. He came on as a substitute against the USA at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and he also won a cap for the U18 side.

In July 2026 he left Groningen for Viking on a four-year contract, moving to Norway from a club he had been attached to for most of his career.
