Ross Sinclair

Ross Sinclair is a goalkeeper who stands 1.97 m (6 ft 6 in) tall. He currently plays for St. Mirren on loan from St. Johnstone, where his contract runs until 31 May 2028. Sinclair joined the St. Johnstone academy at age 12 in 2013, having previously played for Scone Thistle.

His senior career began with several loan spells. He made six appearances for Brechin City (2019–2020), four for Cowdenbeath (2020–2021), and 19 for Montrose (2022–2023). Sinclair signed a three-year professional contract with St. Johnstone on 25 May 2021. He made his Scottish Premiership debut for St. Johnstone in May 2023 against Ross County.

In April 2024, he joined St. Mirren on an emergency seven-day loan due to injuries to regular goalkeepers Shamal George and Ryan Mullen. The loan was extended and runs until 26 May 2026. Sinclair was part of the St. Johnstone squad that won the Scottish Cup (2020–21) and the Scottish League Cup (2020–21), completing a domestic cup double. St. Johnstone also won the Scottish Championship in the 2020–21 season, earning promotion to the Premiership.

Sinclair has represented Scotland at youth levels. He has three caps for Scotland U21, debuting against Turkey in September 2021. He has also represented Scotland U19. He has no senior caps for Scotland.

In August 2023, Sinclair suffered a double break of his arm and an elbow dislocation during a behind-closed-doors friendly. The injury required surgery and kept him sidelined for rehabilitation into the 2025–26 season. His loan to St. Mirren was described as a necessity due to injury crises rather than any disciplinary or performance-related controversy. No individual awards have been recorded for him.
