About the player
Ryan Tafazolli was instrumental in Mansfield Town's Conference Premier title in 2012–13. Before that he had come through the Southampton academy without making a senior appearance, gaining his first experience of men's football on loan at Salisbury City.
He left Mansfield for Peterborough United on a free transfer in 2016 and made 101 appearances for the club. He moved on again without a fee in 2019, to Hull City. His time there was brief: 15 league games.
Wycombe Wanderers signed him on a free transfer in September 2020, and he played 111 times for them and scored nine goals. In January 2025 he went on loan to Lee Man.
Swindon Town signed him on a free transfer on 28 August 2025, on a one-year deal. The club extended it in May 2026.
Tafazolli has not played senior international football for England or for Iran. He has spoken publicly of his hope of representing Iran.
