Sverre Halseth Nypan

Sverre Halseth Nypan made his senior debut for Rosenborg BK in November 2022 at 15 years and 322 days old, becoming the club's youngest ever player. He went on to break Rosenborg's record for youngest league starter, a mark that had stood since Ola By Rise set it in 1977, and in May 2023 he became the club's youngest ever Eliteserien goalscorer, aged 16 years and 145 days. Over three seasons at Rosenborg he made 62 league appearances and scored 14 goals, form that earned him the Eliteserien Young Player of the Year award in both 2023 and 2024, as well as Young Player of the Month in August 2023. In October 2023, The Guardian included him in its Next Generation list of the best players born in 2006.

In June 2025, Manchester City agreed a transfer fee of £12.5 million for Nypan, with no add-ons attached, and the move was completed the following month on a contract running until 2030. He was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough for the 2025–26 season. Across 21 appearances, only three of them starts, he failed to score, but did not concede either, and the loan was mutually terminated early on 2 February 2026 before he returned to Manchester City. He then moved to Lommel SK on loan for the 2026–27 season, making three league appearances for the Belgian club by September 2026.

Nypan won both the EFL Cup and the FA Cup with Manchester City in the 2025–26 season. He has represented Norway at every youth level from under-15 to under-21, and earned his first senior cap on 15 October 2025, coming on as an 81st-minute substitute in a 1–1 friendly draw against New Zealand.
