Sondre Klingen Langås

Sondre Klingen Langås delayed knee surgery for the sake of a relegation fight. In March 2025 he ruptured a meniscus against Blackburn, but he kept playing so that Derby County could stay up, and the club finished 19th. He had the operation once the season was over and returned in October 2025.

He began at Spillum, then moved to Namsos IL, where he made five senior appearances in the 4. divisjon. Ranheim signed him in 2020 and sent him on loan to IL Stjørdals-Blink for his first year; he played three league games there. Over the next three years he made 47 league appearances for Ranheim and seven in the Norwegian Cup, scoring once, in the cup.

In July 2023 he joined Viking FK on a four-and-a-half-year contract. Ranheim described the fee as the biggest sale in their history. He scored on his Viking debut against Haugesund in September 2023 and made 40 league appearances for the club, with two goals in all.

Derby signed him on 1 February 2025 for a reported fee of about 60 million Norwegian kroner, potentially rising to 70 million. It was a club-record sale for Viking. His contract runs to June 2029. His first goal for Derby came against Watford on 22 November 2025, and in December that year he was named captain for the first time. In 2025–26 he made 25 appearances and scored three goals, and he has 46 league appearances for the club in total.

For Norway, he made his senior debut on 9 September 2024 as a substitute against Austria in the Nations League. He was named in the squad for the 2026 World Cup and played once in the group stage, against France on 26 June 2026. Norway reached the quarter-finals.
