Sonny Aljofree

Sonny Aljofree captained Manchester United's Under-21s and won the FA Youth Cup with the club in the 2021–22 season before signing his first professional contract in May 2023. He never made a first-team appearance for United, and his development instead came through a string of loans away from Old Trafford, including two spells at Altrincham where he did not feature in the league.

The breakthrough came at Accrington Stanley, where a loan for the 2024–25 season yielded 25 league appearances and three goals. When his contract with Manchester United expired, Aljofree left as a free agent and joined Rotherham United, signing a two-year deal with the option of a third.

Born in Plymouth, Aljofree has represented England at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level without yet making his senior international debut. He also has the option of playing for Singapore through his paternal grandfather, Hasney Aljofree, a former professional defender who himself won a single England Under-18 cap.
