About the player
He came up through Krasnodar's youth ranks before moves to CSKA Moscow and then Dynamo Moscow, where he never made a first-team appearance but won bronze in the Russian Youth Championship in 2018/19. At youth international level he was capped repeatedly by Russia's under-17 side, scoring in UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers.
A loan to Urozhay preceded a switch abroad to Slovácko, where he played for the Czech club's reserve side and won the Moravian-Silesian Football League. Further loans followed, to Dynamo Makhachkala, with whom he won the Second Division's first group, and briefly to Alania.
It was back in Russia's lower leagues that Melekestsev found his scoring form. At Leon Saturn in 2023 he finished as top scorer of the Second League's Division B. A move to Torpedo Moscow in February 2024 did not work out, and his contract there was terminated within months. He rebuilt at Forte, winning the Second League Division B group in 2024, before his most productive campaign yet: at Tekstilshchik Ivanovo he scored 18 goals in 35 appearances to finish as top scorer of the Second League Division A "Gold" group in 2025.
That scoring record earned him a move to Arsenal Tula, where he signed as a free agent.
