Taichi Fukui

Taichi Fukui made his senior debut for Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal first round against SC Preußen Münster on 26 September 2023, coming on as a substitute in a 4–0 win, and became only the second Japanese player to appear for Bayern's senior side after Takashi Usami. He did not feature when Bayern won the final that season. Before that, he had come through Kurihama FC and the Sagan Tosu academy, signing his first professional contract with Tosu in March 2022 and making five league appearances before Bayern signed him on 1 January 2023 for an undisclosed fee.

A loan to Portimonense in January 2024 brought 11 league appearances and a goal in Portugal, and in July that year he moved on loan again, to FC Arouca, where he made 17 league appearances across the 2024–25 season. On 3 February 2025 the club exercised its option to sign him outright from Bayern Munich for a fee of €1.6 million, on a contract until 30 June 2028. Fukui has made 46 league appearances for the club in total across his loan and permanent spells.

Internationally, he has represented Japan at youth level, with 12 caps and a goal for the under-20s and three caps for the under-22 side, but has not yet been called up to the senior national team.
