About the player
Tomáš Frühwald was in goal when Ružomberok won the Slovak Cup in 2023/24. That season was his breakthrough: he played 22 matches, 17 of them in the Niké Liga and five in the Slovnaft Cup. In European qualifying he kept clean sheets against Hajduk Split in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
He reached that point through a gradual climb. He started out at Dukla Banská Bystrica in 2012 and stayed until 2017. Spells at Železiarne Podbrezová and Nitra followed before he joined Ružomberok. His first-team debut came in 2021.
The 2021/22 season gave him four matches, among them a run of 270 minutes without conceding in the Slovak Cup. A year later he made 15 appearances and kept four clean sheets in the Fortuna Liga. Those two seasons laid the ground for the 2023/24 campaign.
In September 2024 he moved to Bohemians 1905 for €400,000, a fee reported as the most expensive signing in the club's modern history at that time.
Frühwald has played for Slovakia at U18 and U21 level. He has not yet made a senior appearance for the national team.
