About the player
Viggo Martens joined Cercle Brugge in the summer of 2024, arriving via the club's U18 setup. Promotion to the reserve side, Jong Cercle, followed, where he became a regular starter in the First National Division and scored four goals in 26 appearances. His first-team debut for Cercle Brugge came in the 2025/2026 season.
In May 2026, he signed his first professional contract, tying him to Cercle Brugge until June 2028. He has made seven appearances in the Belgian Pro League and totalling 482 minutes on the pitch, though he is yet to register a goal or an assist at that level.
Martens plays as an attacking midfielder and earned a single cap for Belgium's U17 side in 2024. Before his move into professional football, he began his youth career at Olsa Brakel, where he played until 2014.
