About the player
Victor Emanuel Halvorsen was named Young Player of the Year in the PostNord-ligaen in 2023, the season in which he left the club that had trained him. He won the award with FK Kjelsås, the club from the Oslo district where he grew up.
Kjelsås was the only youth setup he knew. He joined the academy in 2016 and moved up through the age groups from U13 to U19. His senior debut came in 2021 in the 2. divisjon, the third tier. The club then rose to the PostNord-ligaen, the second tier, and Halvorsen went with it. By the end of 2023 he had made about 63 appearances for the first team.
That year Sarpsborg 08 signed him from Kjelsås on a free transfer in July. The move did not take him away at once. He was loaned straight back to Kjelsås to finish the season.
He joined Sarpsborg 08 in January 2024 on a contract running to 2026.
Halvorsen has also been part of the Norway U21 set-up.
