About the player
Zurab Chavchanidze arrived at Gagra in January 2024 as a free agent from WIT Georgia.
Before that, his career had followed a steady upward curve through Georgia's second tier. He began at FC Rustavi in 2020, making 16 appearances in his debut season before his role expanded to 26 games and his first senior goal the following year. A move to WIT Georgia at the start of 2022 pushed his output further still — 26 appearances and two goals that year, then 36 appearances and five goals in 2023. That form earned him the free transfer to Gagra.
Chavchanidze has also represented Georgia at youth level, earning two caps for the under-19 side during Euro U19 qualifying in 2020.
