AC Milan Women

The badge is the men's team's, the colours are the men's team's, but the squad AC Milan fielded from June 2018 was not a continuation of anything: the club had bought the Serie A licence of Brescia Calcio Femminile and built a first team from that base within weeks. Carolina Morace, capped for the national side long before women's football had a professional structure of its own, took the first bench.

The nearest the club has come to a trophy was the 2020–21 season, when Milan finished as runners-up in Serie A, lost the Coppa Italia final to Roma on penalties, and were beaten again by Juventus in the Supercoppa. Three finishes as bridesmaid inside one campaign, none of them converted.

Training and most league fixtures are played at the Centro Sportivo Vismara, a modest ground with no real terracing; for the derby against Inter and for Champions League nights the club moves to San Siro, where the away end and the home end belong to the same two clubs that share it on the men's side. The Derby della Madonnina carries the same name and the same stakes on the women's fixture list as it does on the men's.

Valentina Giacinti led the line and wore the captain's armband through those early, trophyless finals before leaving in 2022; Valentina Bergamaschi held the armband too before her own departure in 2024, when it passed to Christy Grimshaw. Kosovare Asllani, a Swedish international with a CV that already ran through some of the continent's leading clubs, signed the same year Giacinti left. The academy, only set up for the 2021–22 season, has since sent players such as Maria Vittoria Nano and Monica Renzotti straight into the first team.

Suzanne Bakker has held the coaching post since 2024, the fourth permanent appointment in the club's short history. The task in front of her squad has not changed since that first runners-up season: turn a habit of finishing second into the club's first trophy.
