Argeș Pitești spent the 2025/2026 season playing home matches in Mioveni — the town whose club, CS Mioveni, is in what locals call Derby-ul Argeșului.

The club traces back to 6 August 1953, when Romania's Ministry of Internal Affairs ordered it into existence as Dinamo Pitești. The name changed to Argeș Pitești in 1967, and for a period in the early 1990s it carried the name of the local Dacia car plant.

Between those titles came a Cupa României win in 1967–68. A young Adrian Mutu passed through the ranks before his career took him elsewhere.

Construction on the new ground in Pitești is meanwhile expected to run into 2027 or 2028, with a planned capacity of 15,200.
