The name points to a mountain that stands over Caracas, and to a Spanish city. Atlético Ávila FC arrived in 2025 as a new entity in the capital, tied to no predecessor: not Atlético Valencia, not Atlético Venezuela. There is nothing behind it to inherit.

What that produced was a side entering the 2026 Segunda División — Liga FUTVE 2 — as one of seventeen clubs, with no trophies and no archive. The club exists, for now, mostly as fixtures and squad lists on results pages.

Home is the Estadio Brígido Iriarte in Caracas, which holds around 10,000 — a municipal ground in a city where the bigger names have their own histories in it. The colours are a deep emerald green and a blue, described by one account as the valley and the sky above it.

The rivalries, when they come, will be geographic before they are anything else.
