Cinfães

Third-tier football and the regional circuit of the Associação de Futebol de Viseu is where Clube Desportivo de Cinfães spends its seasons now, moving between the Campeonato de Portugal and the Divisão de Honra according to how each campaign falls. The most recent evidence of what the club can do at that level came in 2023–24, when it took the Divisão de Honra and the Taça Sócios de Mérito in the same season, beating GD Resende 2–0 in the cup final.

That double followed the previous year's final, settled on penalties against Lusitano de Vildemoinhos. Six regional titles have come to Cinfães since 1989, spread across four decades — 1995, 1997, 2002 and 2008 among them — which says something about how the club keeps returning to the top of the district rather than settling there.

The high point in national terms was 2010–11, when Cinfães won the II Divisão and went up. Further back, the Taça de Portugal took them to the quarter-finals in 1982–83. The competition brought a different sort of afternoon in 2008–09: the fifth round drew FC Porto, and the visitors won 4–1.

Blue and white are the colours, the home shirt carrying a white bow across the chest. The Estádio Municipal Prof. Cerveira Pinto holds 5,000.

The whole of it goes back to 3 January 1931, and the municipality marked the ninety-fourth anniversary of that date in January 2025.
