Czarni Połaniec

Połaniec grew up around its power station, and the town still leans on that identity — locally the club carries the tag "Duma Miasta Energetyków", the pride of the energy city. MKS Czarni Połaniec is the football side that town produced, running out at the Stadion Miejski, a 900-capacity ground with 420 seats, in black and yellow.

Founded on 5 July 1948 as a branch of the People's Sports Club Połaniec, the club has spent its history in the lower tiers of Polish football, mostly shuttling around the IV Liga Świętokrzyska. It has gone up from there three times, in 2013/14, 2017/18 and 2020/21, each promotion lifting it into the III Liga, where its best finishes have been eighth place, in 2008/09 and 2009/10. The 2025/26 campaign, a sixth-place finish, was reckoned the club's best in recent memory.

Cup football has given Czarni its closest brushes with silverware. They reached the final of the Świętokrzyskie regional cup twice, losing 3-4 to KSZO 1929 Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski in 2020/21, then going out to Star Starachowice on penalties after a 2-2 draw in 2023/24. Sebastian Ryguła has been in charge since December 2024, and in 2024 the club had, briefly, an Ekstraklasa name on loan in Przemysław Maj, a Stal Mielec academy product.
