Zalishchyky sits on the left bank of the Dnister, inside the loop the river carves through its canyon. What the club has instead is a short window when it played above its station.

That window opened in 1992. Ukrainian football was rebuilding its pyramid from scratch, and Dnister went into the Second League for the 1992/93 season, then again in 1993/94. There were Ukrainian Cup ties as well. In 1995 the club lost professional status and withdrew from the third tier having played only the first half of the 1994/95 season.

The one honour on the board came nine years after that withdrawal: the Ternopil Oblast championship in 2004 .

Football has been played here a long time — the earliest mention of the club reaches back to 1913 . White and blue are the colours the amateur association lists.
