Behind the reserve side stands the parent club at Hradec Králové, founded in 1905 as SK Hradec Králové. Petr Jiráček and Václav Pilař both came up through that pipeline before becoming Czech internationals, and Adam Zadražil, now the first team's goalkeeper, played his way up through the reserve side as well.

The second team plays in the 3. Liga, the third tier of the Czech system, and finished the 2024/25 season seventh in Group B with 43 points from 32 matches. Under the name SKP Spartak Hradec Králové 'B' and later SK Hradec Králové 'B', it won the fourth-tier Divize C twice, in 1990/91 and 1997/98. Into the 2025/26 campaign it has kept that form going, sitting top of the table after a 2-0 win over Slovan Liberec B in September.

Matches are played at the Sportovní areál Slavia Hradec Králové, which holds around 1,000 people, well short of the crowds the first team draws for the Východočeské derby against Pardubice. The nickname Votroci and the black-and-white colours are shared with the senior side.
