Mil-Muğan

The Heydar Aliyev City Stadium in Imishli holds 7,215. Imishli sits in the cotton-growing belt of the Mil-Muğan plain, and the club took its nickname, Cotton Pickers, from the industry that funded it — the MKT Istehsalat-Kommersiya company, whose name the team carried at its founding in 2004 as MKT-Araz.

That backing bought the club four seasons in Azerbaijan's Premier League, from 2004 to 2007, with results that never threatened the top of the table but never embarrassed it either: eighth of eighteen in the debut campaign, ninth of fourteen the next, then fifth of thirteen in 2006–07. The same season produced its only notable silverware, a run to the Azerbaijan Cup final that ended on 27 May 2007 with a 0–1 loss to Khazar Lankaran.

Relegation from the top flight came that same year, and the club settled into the First Division under its original name until 2013, when it was renamed Mil-Muğan.
